Chapter 326 Justifiable Defense
Chapter 326 Justifiable Defense
Her movements were swift and decisive, her voice crisp and clear. He was stunned for a moment, seemingly not expecting her to dare retaliate, and his face fell: "Damn! You don't know what's good for you, do you?"
He cursed and suddenly reached out to grab Lin Yue's hair, trying to forcibly drag her away.
Seeing how practiced he was at grabbing his hair, Lin Yue's eyes turned cold. It seemed this wasn't the first time this guy had bullied someone like this.
Just as his hand was about to touch Lin Yue's hair, Lin Yue flipped her wrist, her fingertips lightly hooking and pulling on a certain spot on his thick wrist. Wang Shuo's forward momentum seemed to be redirected out of thin air, and he staggered forward uncontrollably, almost falling to the ground, letting out a cry of pain: "Ah! My hand!"
Seeing this, the other two boys also rushed forward, cursing. Lin Yue's eyes sharpened; her last bit of patience had run out.
She sidestepped the first boy's punch, then hooked her foot, causing the boy to lose his balance and fall to the ground with a scream.
Almost simultaneously, she bent her other elbow and rammed it backward with precision, hitting another boy who was lunging at her from the side right in the stomach.
"Ugh!" The boy groaned, clutching his stomach and curling up, his face turning a deep purplish-red.
In the blink of an eye, the three menacing boys were all lying on the ground, leaving only Zhang Wei standing.
Zhang Wei was completely terrified, her face deathly pale, staring dumbfounded at the scene before her, as if she had seen a ghost. She never imagined that Lin Yue, who was usually so quiet in class, could be so terrifying when she got physical!
She wasn't unaware that Lin Yue was a Kamen Rider; after all, the public transformation at school had left a deep impression on her. But the fact that she didn't know Lin Yue possessed such power was simply illogical!
Lin Yue straightened her slightly crooked collar and looked at Zhang Wei.
Zhang Wei screamed in fright, staggering backward until her back slammed against the cold wall. She trembled like a leaf in the wind: "You...you stay away! I...I'm calling the police!"
"Call the police?" Lin Yue seemed to have heard something amusing, and the corner of her mouth twitched slightly. "Okay."
Instead of leaving, she leaned leisurely against the opposite wall, took out her phone from her pocket, and started swiping away, seemingly reading a novel, completely ignoring the groaning people on the ground and the terrified Zhang Wei.
The boy struggled to his feet, wincing in pain from his wrist, both shocked and furious. Looking at the composed Lin Yue, and recalling his own humiliating defeat, especially with the crowd surrounding him, he felt utterly humiliated.
Overwhelmed with shame and indignation, he actually pulled out his phone, his hands trembling.
"Hello! 110? We...we've been beaten! At the gate of No. 2 Middle School! Yes! Come quickly!"
The sound of sirens grew louder as they approached, and soon two police officers appeared at the alley entrance. They were taken aback by what they saw inside—three boys were sitting or lying haphazardly, their faces contorted in pain; a girl was huddled against the wall, trembling; and another girl was quietly leaning against the wall, playing on her phone, seemingly an outsider.
"What happened? Who called the police?" an older police officer asked.
"Officer! It's her! She hit us!" Wang Shuo immediately pointed at Lin Yue and shouted, clutching his wrist, "Look what she did to us! My hand is almost broken!"
Another boy, clutching his stomach, chimed in, "Yes! It was her! She suddenly started hitting people!"
Zhang Wei seemed to have found her pillar of support, and said in a tearful voice, "Police officer, she's our classmate. Just because I said a few words to her during the day, she had people ambush us outside the school and even beat us up..."
The wicked accuse first, and they've mastered the art of distorting the truth perfectly.
Lin Yue finally put away her phone, looked up, her face expressionless, and didn't rush to explain. She even recognized a familiar policeman among them—the same policeman who had handled the incident when Wang Hao had followed her.
The veteran police officer, experienced as he was, glanced at both sides—three boys who were clearly young men from the streets and a fashionably dressed girl, while opposite them was a slender, quiet girl in a high school uniform. He already had a few guesses in his mind.
"What's your name?" he asked Lin Yue.
"Lin Yue".
Is what they said true?
Lin Yue pointed to the school gate: "Isn't there a camera at the main gate? Although the angle might not be very good, it should be able to capture the general situation. It'll be easy to tell who started it and who blocked whom."
Zhang Wei and the others' expressions changed instantly; they clearly hadn't noticed the problem.
The older policeman gave him a wink, and the younger policeman immediately went to the security guard to check the surveillance footage.
While waiting, the veteran police officer asked them several more questions. Wang Shuo and the others stammered and gave incoherent answers. Lin Yue's answer, however, was clear and concise: "They blocked my way, attacked first, I was just defending myself."
Soon, the young policeman returned, nodded to the older policeman, and whispered a few words.
The veteran policeman's face darkened, and his stern gaze swept over the group: "The surveillance footage clearly shows! You were the ones who blocked this female student first and made the first move to pull her away! She was acting entirely in self-defense!"
He paused, then emphasized, "You lot, you're causing trouble and making a false police report. You're all coming with me to the police station! We'll notify your parents!"
The group was stunned, their faces turning ashen, and they could no longer maintain their arrogance. Zhang Wei was so frightened that she burst into tears.
The older police officer turned to Lin Yue, his tone much gentler: "Lin Yue, you also need to come back with us to give a statement. Don't worry, you are the victim, you can go home after the procedures are completed."
Lin Yue nodded in agreement: "Okay, officer."
Inside the police station, the young officer looked at Lin Yue and smiled, "It's you again. Did the guy who followed you last time cause you any more trouble?"
Lin Yue smiled and shook her head, "No, thank you for your help last time." The old policeman also smiled and said, "That's good. You seem quiet and gentle, but you're quite skilled."
After giving her statement, it was already dark. Lin Yue walked out of the police station and took a deep breath of the slightly cool air.
Just as I reached the door, I saw two figures rushing over – Yun Yi and Li Yuetian.
Both of them had obvious anxiety and worry on their faces, indicating that they had rushed over after hearing the news.
"Sister Lin Yue! Are you alright?" Yun Yi rushed over and looked her up and down. "Where are those bastards? Damn it, they dared to block you! I'm going to kill them!" He was so angry that his eyes turned red, and he rolled up his sleeves and was about to rush into the police station.
"Yunyi!" Lin Yue stopped him. "It's alright. The police have finished dealing with it."
Li Yuetian also breathed a sigh of relief. He had rushed over after receiving Yun Yi's message and seemed calmer than Yun Yi: "We heard that you were blocked by Zhang Wei and those people she knew outside of school, and it even escalated to the point of going to the police station. What happened? Were you injured?"
“No.” Lin Yue shook her head, her words concise. “They were looking for trouble, so I hit them. The police reviewed the security footage; I acted in self-defense.”
She spoke casually, but Yun Yi and Li Yuetian could both imagine the scene.
Yun Yi was still indignant: "That gossip in your class! I knew she was no good! Tomorrow at school, I'll..."
"Yunyi," Lin Yue interrupted him, her eyes calm, "This matter is over. The police will handle it, and the school will know. Let's not create any more trouble."
She didn't want to escalate the situation, and she didn't want Yun Yi or Li Yuetian to get involved in unnecessary trouble because of her.
Li Yuetian looked at Lin Yue, seemingly wanting to say something, but in the end he just nodded: "It's good that you're alright. From now on, try to... go home with Yun Yi after school."
Yun Yi was suddenly stunned; he hadn't expected Li Yuetian to say such a thing.
"Okay," Lin Yue replied. "Let's go back."
