Chapter 117 Going to sea
Chapter 117 Going to sea
Even wealthy people might not be able to get a room at Mingde Hospital. Yet Qiu Pi had reserved a room there for years, just in case.
Geng Miaowan rushed to the hospital after receiving the call. As soon as she entered the ward, she saw Feng Xiaotian and asked, "How is he? Is he awake? How is he?"
“She was awake for a while, but just fell asleep again,” Feng Xiaotian said, glancing at her. “The doctor also came to check on her and said there’s nothing seriously wrong. She can be discharged after two more days of observation.”
Geng Miaowan breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good."
As she spoke, she gave him the noodles she had bought on the way. Feng Xiaotian took the noodles and began to eat them with gusto. After only a few bites, he caught sight of Xiaobai following at her feet and asked, "Xiaobai's back?"
Geng Miaowan nodded.
"So, have you found anything?"
She sighed softly, "No, Xiaobai was stopped when he chased the enemy to the suburbs and couldn't continue."
Feng Xiaotian shoveled another mouthful of noodles into his mouth and asked, his words muffled, "Who stopped you?"
Geng Miaowan leaned closer and whispered, "It might not be human."
Startled, Feng Xiaotian didn't even have time to swallow; his mouth caught in his throat, and he choked. After coughing for a while, he finally managed to speak normally, "Not human? What is it then? Could there be another demon?"
This news shocked him greatly. He had investigated for so long and had never discovered another demon. If there really were two demons, how could they possibly deal with them…?
“Not really…” Geng Miaowan glanced at him hesitantly. According to Xiaobai, that thing might be a ghost. But she didn’t say it out loud for fear of scaring Feng Xiaotian. “We don’t know what it is yet.”
Feng Xiaotian nodded, looking thoughtful. This matter seemed to be involving more and more things. Just then, he caught sight of Xiaobai out of the corner of his eye; it was leisurely lying on the ground by the door, sleeping with its eyes closed.
Putting aside the unidentified creature blocking Xiaobai's way, he couldn't help but wonder how the little thing had relayed the information it had gathered to Geng Miaowan. Could it possibly talk?
Otherwise, how could Geng Miaowan be so clear about the results of its tracking, as if it were her own experience?
He then laughed and denied his idea, finding it even more unbelievable than if someone had told him that ghosts existed.
With the disappearance of Qianmian Shang's trail and the death of He Chaobai, the clues were lost.
Feng Xiaotian still had several targets he had identified through investigation, but after further verification, they discovered that none of them had been targeted by Qianmian Shang. It seemed that Qianmian Shang had no intention of committing any more crimes and had disappeared without a trace.
However, they did not intend to give up and continued searching for any clues. But the results were minimal.
More than a month passed by at a leisurely pace.
That day, Qiu Pi invited Geng Miaowan to go to the sea. She didn't want to go, but she was getting anxious because they hadn't found any new clues for over a month. The rest of them thought it would be good for her to go out and relax.
Qiu Pi picked up Geng Miaowan at noon. They had lunch together first, and then drove for more than an hour before arriving at a dock.
As Geng Miaowan sailed out to sea on Qiu Pi's yacht, she couldn't help but sigh. It's really good to be rich; you can do whatever you want.
A white yacht floats on the azure sea, swaying gently like a small boat. It also seems like a feather, bobbing up and down with the waves. Sunlight spills onto the sea, as if draping it in a golden cloak—a breathtaking sight.
The vast ocean can always make people forget many of their worries.
Looking at the sea that merges with the horizon in the distance, Geng Miaowan took a few long, deep breaths and felt much clearer in her mind. The gloom of the past few days seemed to have been blown away by the sea breeze.
Qiu Pi emerged from the cabin, carrying two glasses of red wine. He was dressed casually in sportswear. With his natural clothes-hanging physique, he looked good in anything. His short, choppy hair shone with a unique luster in the sunlight; slightly disheveled by the sea breeze, it did not detract from his handsomeness but instead added a touch of rebellious charm.
With a faint smile on his face, he walked over to Geng Miaowan and handed her a glass of red wine. "How is it? The view here is quite nice, isn't it?"
She took the glass and nodded. "Yes, it really is beautiful."
She had only ever seen such beautiful scenery in pictures when she was still human.
"There's something even more beautiful to come."
"What is it?" Geng Miaowan asked curiously.
Qiu Piqian took a sip of wine, smiled, and shook his head slightly. "You'll find out when the time comes."
He seemed to be in a very good mood.
After the midday sun had passed, he took out a wetsuit for her to change into.
"You're taking me diving?"
He shrugged, making a rare moment of humor, "Otherwise, do you expect me to make you walk down the street with me wearing this?"
"But... I've never been underwater before..." She had never been underwater before and couldn't help but want to try it. But she was also afraid that she didn't know anything and that it would be dangerous if she went down.
"Don't worry, I'm here." Seeing that she was still looking at him with concern and didn't move, he added, "I have a diving instructor certificate."
Hearing him say that, she felt relieved, picked up her diving suit, and went into the cabin.
However, Qiu Pi waited on the deck for more than ten minutes, but she still didn't come out. He couldn't help but knock on the cabin door with some worry, "Miao Wan, are you ready?"
"No...not done..." Her voice was also a little anxious, as if she was struggling with something.
After waiting for another ten minutes or so, she still hadn't come out, so Qiu Pi asked again, only to receive the same answer: she wasn't done yet. Another five or six minutes passed, and finally he couldn't help but ask, "Is there anything else that's not done?"
There was a moment of silence inside, before her hesitant voice came through, "It's just... the zipper isn't zipped up..."
"Come out, I'll help you pull it out."
"do not want!"
"Then I'm coming in."
After saying that, she actually reached out to pull the door. The next second, the door opened from the inside, and there was Geng Miaowan, her face flushed and her head slightly lowered, holding the door with one hand and the wetsuit at her chest with the other. Her expression was unusually shy.
Qiu Pi chuckled as he entered the cabin and came up behind her. Beneath her black wetsuit, a large expanse of smooth, white skin was exposed, extending to the curves of her arms. (To be continued.)
