Chapter 1856 - 1853: The Six Envoys

Chapter 1856 - 1853: The Six Envoys

To save time, Lin Tian and the others split up to examine and diagnose the patients. Zhang Heyuan was a Demon Exorcist, he had his own methods, and Wu Xiuluo and Gai Huatian were no simple characters either. The four of them split into four groups and started a full check on all the infected.

Half an hour later, everyone regrouped in the lobby on the first floor. After pooling the results, the situation was still fairly optimistic.

"Aside from the earliest batch of infected being a bit weak, the others don’t have any major problems. After this mess, I hope they wise up and stop fooling around." The old man shook his head.

He was naturally referring to those directors, screenwriters and celebrities with chaotic sex lives, and of course, a few second‑generation rich kids. Sleeping with starlets and almost sending their own little lives off with them.

"They’ll probably be traumatized for life. Still dare to fool around after this?" Lin Tian chuckled.

"Alright, this old man should get going too. In the end nothing big happened, the mess that’s left, you can take your time cleaning it up." Zhang Heyuan scratched his somewhat messy hair, then looked at Lin Tian. "Lin Tian, want to come back to the Zhang Family with me? That disciple of mine, Lingyu, thinks about you every day."

The old man talked so bluntly that even Lin Tian’s thick skin couldn’t quite take it. He grunted twice, then still refused. "I still have classes. I’ll go when I have time."

"That’s fine, young people should put their studies first. That’s that then, we’ll meet again someday." The old man, rare for him, cupped his hands in a proper salute, then turned and left in a carefree manner.

"Lin Tian, there are no outsiders here. Can you tell me where exactly Ksitigarbha went?" Watching Zhang Heyuan walk off, Wu Xiuluo once again pressed him about Ksitigarbha’s situation, extremely serious.

"Senior Sister Xiuluo, you’ve helped me before, and I don’t want to lie to you, but I promised someone about this. I can’t tell you." Lin Tian said honestly.

Although he could feel that Wu Xiuluo had no ill intent, the Yanmo Envoy had reminded him that this matter needed to be kept secret.

"Why are you all so interested in Ksitigarbha?" Lin Tian asked in return.

Wu Xiuluo and Gai Huatian exchanged a look, then each flicked their hands. A screen of light descended and enveloped the four of them. Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan didn’t move, because Wu Xiuluo bore no hostility.

"This is a matter of great importance. We had no choice but to set up a Barrier so no one else can overhear our conversation." Wu Xiuluo explained apologetically.

As she finished, Wu Xiuluo stretched out her palm. The skin of her palm was extremely fair and delicate, without a trace of callus, even carrying a faint sheen. Lin Tian didn’t understand, and raised his brows slightly.

Just as he was wondering, golden light surged from Wu Xiuluo’s palm. Then, a "卍" character appeared in the center of her palm. The "卍" slowly rotated, releasing a soft golden radiance, utterly wondrous.

Lin Tian’s heart stirred and he looked at Gai Huatian. Gai Huatian looked young, but in his eyes there was a steadiness and maturity rarely seen in people his age, and he didn’t seem to like talking much, which didn’t match his reputation as the campus heartthrob. Of course, he might never have cared about those titles.

Gai Huatian also extended his hand. Golden light rose from his palm, and the same "卍" character surfaced.

"You two are... envoys?" Lin Tian probed.

Lin Tian didn’t specify what kind of envoy. The benefit of such a vague question was that if the other side were Ksitigarbha Envoys, they’d naturally understand. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t know what he meant and thus wouldn’t be able to answer.

If they couldn’t answer, then there’d be nothing more to discuss. However, when the two heard Lin Tian’s words, delight instantly showed on their faces.

"We’re two of the Ksitigarbha Six Envoys. I am the Great Compassionate Heavenly Woman, of the Transformed Asura Path. Gai Huatian is the Capturing Angel Envoy, of the Heavenly Transformation Path. A long time ago, we awakened our consciousness and powers, but because these flesh bodies are mortal vessels, our powers haven’t fully awakened yet."

"Our current strength is equivalent to your Ancient Martial Artists’ Innate Strength. We reincarnated into the Human Realm to find the Reincarnated Ksitigarbha King and guard the World Venerable until the World Venerable awakens Ksitigarbha’s power."

Wu Xiuluo spoke quickly yet steadily. The news she revealed left Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan stunned.

"Lin... Lin Tian, Senior Sister Xiuluo isn’t joking, right?" Xiao Manxuan blinked and only after a long moment managed to squeeze out a sentence.

Although the little girl had met Black and White Impermanence and Ksitigarbha, suddenly hearing something like this was still hard to digest all at once. Or rather, she’d seen too many strange things tonight, and her brain was running out of capacity.

"They’re not joking." Lin Tian exhaled a long breath and said solemnly.

Every time Wu Xiuluo used Golden Light Energy, the Ksitigarbha Order in Lin Tian’s body reacted. Adding in the "卍" in their palms, all of this proved they weren’t lying.

More importantly, the information they gave completely matched what the Yanmo Envoy had said.

"So that means you’re willing to tell us?" Wu Xiuluo asked, rather excited. But she quickly calmed herself, then said, "My apologies, I shouldn’t be so elated or dejected. But trapped in this mortal body, living amid the six desires of the red dust, I can’t manage to keep my heart as clear as a bright mirror anymore."

"It’s fine. I actually think you’re pretty good like this, Senior Sister. If you don’t take a walk through the mortal world, how would you know whether your heart is firm or not?" Lin Tian smiled lightly.

Wu Xiuluo’s eyes lit up, then she came to a realization. "What Lin Tian junior said is true. It seems there is a reason you could become the fated person."

"Heh, the Yanmo Envoy also talked about this ’fated person’ nonsense, but I don’t believe in that at all. If they chose me, it definitely isn’t because I’m so full of Buddhist nature or enlightenment. There must be some reason I don’t know. My gut says that reason might have to do with my background."

Lin Tian chuckled twice. He didn’t feel that becoming the fated person was anything glorious.

"You’ve met the Yanmo Envoy? How is he now?" Wu Xiuluo asked again.

"The Yanmo Envoy has been guarding the Ksitigarbha Hall all along, but he probably isn’t there at the moment. As for where he went, only he knows." Lin Tian spread his hands.

"Uh... Lin Tian junior, can you first tell us where the Ksitigarbha Venerable has gone?" The always‑silent Gai Huatian, seeing Lin Tian ramble on without getting to the point, couldn’t help but ask bluntly.

"Ksitigarbha is actually..." Lin Tian said half a sentence, then suddenly stopped. Even Xiao Manxuan found it strange, but he only shook his head. "I still can’t say."

"Why?" Wu Xiuluo and Gai Huatian asked in unison.

The two only pressed him, they didn’t flip out in anger. Lin Tian was already quite impressed—worthy of being Ksitigarbha Envoys. If it were him, he felt he’d have blown up.

Lin Tian’s heart stirred, and he simply repeated Ksitigarbha’s own words: "Those with fate will meet naturally, so why cling to it? Ksitigarbha doesn’t wish to see you yet, which means the time hasn’t come."

That was something they couldn’t refute, and couldn’t keep pressing on either, because it was Ksitigarbha who didn’t want to see them.

Wu Xiuluo didn’t pursue it further. She casually dispelled the Barrier and requested, "Lin Tian junior, Xuanxuan, I hope you can keep what we talked about today a secret. We’ll continue to stay at Jinghua University as students."
