Chapter 380 Poaching
Chapter 380 Poaching
"Of course not, the car's up ahead. There's also the matter of that piece of land..."
I quickly interrupted him: "By the way, weren't they revising the plan a few days ago? We'll have to see them again in a couple of days."
"That's exactly what I wanted to say. I'll go with you."
"That's perfect. With you here, I believe our chances of winning are even higher."
Jiang Yichen and I walked and talked, and soon we arrived at the car. We got in one after the other.
I played my favorite music in the car, went home and went to sleep, preparing for the meeting the next day.
On the day of the meeting, Song Yang walked in. He saw Xu Sisi and me standing together and frowned slightly: "Ms. Gu, are you ready?"
I smiled and nodded: "Yes, Sisi has come up with a good idea, and the plan has been adjusted."
Song Yang glanced at Xu Sisi, his tone somewhat indifferent: "Is that so? Then thank you very much, Miss Xu."
Xu Sisi seemed to sense his mood and smiled, "President Song, you're too kind. I only did what little I could. Momo, I'll go to the conference room to prepare. You two can talk."
After she left, Song Yang walked up to me and asked in a low voice, "Gu Mo, Xu Sisi is a good assistant."
I was taken aback for a moment, then realized what he was thinking and couldn't help but laugh: "Don't try to poach our people, huh?"
He scoffed, "You're overthinking it."
Jiang Yichen didn't say a word, but simply put his arm around my shoulder and moved me from his left side to his right side.
During the meeting, I stood in front of the projection screen and calmly presented the revised plan. When I mentioned "brand value enhancement" and "pilot projects," the board members' eyes visibly lit up.
Song Yang's elder brother, Song Feng, frowned and asked, "Miss Gu, how can you guarantee the success of this pilot project?"
I smiled slightly and opened a data report: "This is a similar project our studio did for other brands. Market feedback shows that brand awareness increased by 30% and customer loyalty increased by 25%. If Song's is willing to try, we are confident that we can achieve the same results."
The board members began whispering among themselves, clearly interested in the proposal.
Jiang Yichen stood in the conference room, his brows furrowed. Before him, the legal team brought by Lin Qing and Zhao Xing were nitpicking at his proposed cooperation.
"This clause is vague and carries significant risks," a lawyer said coldly, tapping his fingers on a document.
Jiang Yichen was furious. He had meticulously crafted this plan, only to have it dismissed as worthless. But he knew now was not the time to act impulsively; he needed to remain calm.
"Everyone, this plan has been carefully considered, the risks are manageable, and it's beneficial to everyone," Jiang Yichen said, trying to keep his tone calm and persuade the other party.
But the lawyers remained unmoved and continued to nitpick, making the negotiations a quagmire from which there was no progress.
?
Just then, Jiang Yichen's phone vibrated; it was his assistant calling. His heart tightened; he had a bad feeling.
"Boss, that seasoned business tycoon has encountered a sudden family emergency and can no longer help with the mediation," the assistant's anxious voice came through.
Jiang Yichen felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him; this was undoubtedly adding insult to injury. The already difficult negotiations were now even more hopeless.
"Understood." Jiang Yichen took a deep breath and hung up the phone. He looked out the window, his mind racing, trying to think of a way to break the deadlock.
Meanwhile, within the Song Group, a board meeting was in full swing.
Song Yang stood on the stage, his expression grave, explaining the cooperation plan with the female lead's studio.
"This is an excellent opportunity for us to successfully expand our business in the Asia-Pacific region," Song Yang said firmly, trying to persuade the shareholders present.
But his older brother, sitting to the side, sneered.
“Little brother, this female lead's studio is small-scale and high-risk. If something goes wrong, our Song Group can't afford the consequences.” Song Yang's elder brother deliberately raised his voice, his eyes sweeping over the other shareholders.
Some conservative shareholders nodded in agreement, clearly swayed.
Song Yang was extremely anxious. He knew the potential of the female lead's studio and believed that this collaboration would bring huge benefits.
?
"Brother, we can't just look at the current scale; the studio's network and innovation capabilities are the key," Song Yang argued firmly.
However, the voting results showed that the majority of votes were against the proposal, putting the cooperation plan in jeopardy.
?
Song Yang clenched his fists. He was unwilling to give up so easily, but he couldn't think of a way to turn the situation around.
Back at the negotiation site, Jiang Yichen tried again to push the negotiations forward.
"Everyone, let's take another look at this plan. With a few adjustments, we're sure to find a win-win situation," Jiang Yichen said, forcing himself to stay focused.
Zhao Xing leaned back in his chair, looking indifferent, while Lin Qing kept his head down, staring at the documents, saying nothing.
At this moment, Deng Da walked into the conference room. He was Jiang Yichen's capable assistant.
?
Deng Da, with his sharp eyes, immediately sensed something was amiss as soon as he entered. He quietly approached Jiang Yichen and whispered, "Boss, I feel like there's something wrong with them."
Jiang Yichen nodded slightly; he shared the same feeling.
The negotiations remained deadlocked. Zhao Xing and Lin Qing occasionally exchanged glances, and Deng Da caught a glimpse of their barely perceptible smugness.
?
Deng Da's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly gave Jiang Yichen a wink.
?
Jiang Yichen felt a chill run down his spine, realizing that the other party must have set a trap.
?
"Could it be that they never intended to cooperate in the first place, and were just stalling for time?" Jiang Yichen wondered, a cold sweat breaking out on his back.
He decided to take the initiative and break the deadlock.
"Since everyone is so dissatisfied with the plan, why don't you share your thoughts?" Jiang Yichen looked at Lin Qing and Zhao Xing.
Lin Qing raised her head, her eyes flickering. "Our thinking is simple: draft a new plan according to our requirements; otherwise, cooperation is out of the question."
Jiang Yichen sneered inwardly. This was clearly an attempt to force him to accept all their conditions; it wasn't going to be that easy.
“Mr. Lin, negotiation is a two-way street; one-sided demands won’t work,” Jiang Yichen said without backing down.
Deng Da's voice echoed in the conference room, each word like a knife, piercing straight to Zhao Xing and Lin Qing's weak points. His gaze was piercing, as if it could see through all pretense and strike at their hearts. Zhao Xing and Lin Qing's faces instantly turned deathly pale, their previous composure and arrogance vanishing in an instant.
"President Jiang, what do you mean by that?" Zhao Xing forced a smile, trying to hide his inner panic.
Deng Da sneered, pulled a stack of documents from the folder, and slammed them on the table: "These are your private transaction records with that real estate company. The flow of funds and contract terms are crystal clear. You thought you could get away with it? Too bad, you've miscalculated."
Fine beads of sweat appeared on Lin Qing's forehead. He forced himself to remain calm: "President Jiang, these are all misunderstandings. We can explain..."
