Chapter 112: War III
Chapter 112: War III
With him being occupied with the annoying water blades, Seraph took the opportunity and focused his attention on the injured Elder.
"When you die, blame him for not dealing with the water blades fast enough."
His smile disappeared, and he charged at the man with killing intent in his eyes.
"Impudent! You’re courting death, brat!"
Snorting, the man growled and stretched a hand forward. Flames engulfed his hand, becoming a gigantic hand that seemed to swallow Seraph’s figure.
He successfully caught the white-haired young man, then smiled to himself. "Now, die."
That was when he heard a soft whisper. "Seraphim Spear: Second Form—Piercer."
Something tore from within the flaming hand and flew straight at his neck. He tried to dodge, but the blade suddenly switched target and stabbed into his heart.
"You..."
Looking at Seraph who was completely unharmed despite being engulfed by his flaming hand earlier, he felt shocked.
"How could you...?"
Blood leaked from his lips, and he felt his life force slipping away.
"Elder Tobi!"
The other man who had just finished destroying the thousand water blades shouted in panic after seeing his mate’s condition.
He immediately became furious and rushed at Seraph.
The young man smiled, then used his spear to fling the dying Elder toward him.
He was forced to stop his angry charge and catch his close friend, holding him in his arms.
"You... Tobi... don’t you dare die."
The man smiled weakly, blood dripping from his lips. "Mantez, be wary of that... child. His techniques are..."
His eyes turned lifeless, and his entire body turned limp.
"Arrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!!!"
Mantez roared in emotional agony and grief, rushing at Seraph with madness in his eyes.
"Good." Seraph smiled back at him, then swung his spear.
Elder Mantez struck with his sword, blocking the attack easily, then he spat flames at Seraph’s face.
"That’s rude."
Seraph frowned, suddenly dropping low and letting the attack pass over his head. He glanced at the disciples fighting below them and quickly found Sylvia.
She was surrounded by two Core Inferno Sect disciples who were hellbent on killing her.
However, she was doing fine. They bore several injuries, but she didn’t even have a single scratch on her body.
"Don’t ignore me, brat!"
Elder Mantez roared as he angrily charged at Seraph. He spammed several fireballs at the young man, trying to replicate his earlier annoying move.
It failed miserably as Seraph simply turned around and fled from the attack. It ended up hitting disciples who were fighting below, injuring some of them.
"You brat!"
Seraph laughed heartily, amused by the man’s anger. Then, he remembered something. His smile vanished, and his expression darkened.
"That’s right. I have something to do. I can’t drag this out any longer."
Exhaling, he employed a new technique he had learnt.
"Sap."
From the light injuries causes by the water blades earlier, Elder Mantez felt something seep out of his body, and he weakened instantly.
"What are you doing?" He felt wary, immediately distancing himself from Seraph.
Unfortunately, distance didn’t matter.
"Do you want to know? That’s what killed your friend."
Elder Mantez’s expression darkened, feeling his body grow weaker.
’What demonic technique is he using?!’
With his face completely blank, Seraph stepped closer to him. "This is a reverse use of life element. Instead of healing you by putting life energy into you, I’m draining your life energy instead."
Elder Mantez’s eyes widened in shock, and he couldn’t help but feel a chill in his heart.
"You... life element user?"
Seraph didn’t answer him. After confirming that he had weakened him enough, he dashed at the man and struck him.
Clang!
Mantez managed to block, but he was thrown back with full force, slamming into the ground among the Inferno Sect disciples.
"Elder!"
Before the disciples could rush to his aid, Seraph’s spear fell from above and pinned him to the ground.
Landing beside him, Seraph activated his Fire Domain technique. After advancing into the King Stage, his spiritual energy had become purer, and the quality had risen greatly.
Hence, his spiritual energy fueling the Fire Domain made it burn even more fiercer.
The flames immediately engulfed Elder Mantez, causing him to groan in pain. His spiritual energy flushed out in an attempt to resist, but with Seraph draining his spiritual energy, he was growing weaker and weaker by the second.
"Keuk..."
He could only lay there, staring at Seraph with intense hatred until he lost all signs of life.
The disciples distanced themselves away from Seraph, too terrified to attack him. After all, one of their powerful Elders had just died at his hands.
"Oh?"
Seraph chuckled darkly, spotting someone familiar among the disciples.
He slowly walked towards her while keeping her locked in place with his spiritual energy.
"Mila, isn’t it?"
His fingers brushed her cheeks gently, contrasting the terrified look in her eyes.
"You’re always surviving. That’s good. If you can survive this war, I will consider letting you redeem yourself."
Ignoring her, he rose back into the sky to observe the situation.
Song had already killed two of her opponents, merely toying with the remaining two. In the distance, he could feel the shockwaves from the clash between Elder Mei and the Ancestor Elder of the Inferno Sect.
’I should be able to go after my own goal now, right?’
He observed the battlefield once more, then quietly snuck away.
"Song! This is enough! You have already killed two of us. Let us end this segment of the war here."
One of the Inferno Sect Elders proposed, his expression grim. He realized they were losing greatly, and he feared they might not be able to handle the losses if this battle continued.
’We need reinforcements. And we might have to enlist the help of those guys.’
Unfortunately, Song wasn’t going to agree with him. "Let’s end this segment? No, this battle is ending here today."
"You’re going too far, Song!" The other Elder roared. "If you don’t agree, then don’t blame us for not being polite!"
Unfazed, the woman smiled and spread her arms.
"Be my guest."
