Chapter 11 The Out-of-Control Monster
Chapter 11 The Out-of-Control Monster
Tao Tao transformed into a small white beast and swiftly darted through the bushes, relentlessly pursued by the Five-Phosphorus Scorpion that was left behind.
The scorpion's tail turned incredibly red due to its furious rage, appearing as if it could drip blood. However, this was not blood, but a highly potent venom that would kill anyone who touched it.
Fortunately, Tao Tao was agile and moved through the woods without any trouble. However, she still had to be careful of the venom shot by the Five-Phase Scorpion and its sudden attacks.
……
Qin Xiyu cautiously entered the nest. It was very dark inside, and she couldn't see anything. She took out a moonstone to illuminate it and then saw that the stone walls on both sides were covered with sticky liquid, and the stench was coming from there.
The further you go in, the less vegetation you see, leaving only uneven paths.
Does this really contain bellflowers?
Qin Xiyu had some doubts, but according to the habits of bellflowers, dark and damp places like this were indeed the most suitable for their survival.
"Ring ring..."
A breeze blew through the nest, carrying one or two clear bell sounds. The sound was very faint and not easily noticed, but in such an environment, even the faintest sound could be heard.
"It's a bellflower!" Qin Xiyu exclaimed excitedly and quickly ran towards the direction from which the sound came.
Soon she saw a bright and open view before her. At the end of the cave was a very spacious area, and the bellflowers were growing in the mud in the center.
As you get closer, you can clearly see the stark white bones exposed in the mud. Some are animal remains, and some are human remains. It seems that many people have sacrificed their lives to collect bellflowers.
Qin Xiyu didn't dare linger. She carefully stepped on the mud and reached out to pick the bellflowers. She had to be quick, otherwise Tao Tao would be in danger.
After quickly finishing harvesting, Qin Xiyu stored the items in her storage bracelet. Just as she stood up, she heard a "click" behind her.
The sound of something crushing bones made her heart skip a beat, and she subconsciously took out a leaf-shaped magical artifact from her storage bracelet.
Just as they were about to make a move, the other party suddenly said, "Junior Sister Qin, it's been a long time."
"Senior Brother Sun?" Qin Xiyu turned around in surprise and saw Sun Lian standing behind her, giving her a malicious smile.
What are you doing here?
They're competing for the same mission, so their presence here really makes people suspicious.
Sun Lian, with one hand behind his back, slowly approached Qin Xiyu. "I was wondering why you're here, Junior Sister." As he spoke, his expression turned serious, and he said coldly, "Hand over all the bellflowers in your hand, and I can pretend nothing happened."
"Senior brother, are you trying to rob me outright?" Qin Xiyu cautiously backed away.
"I'm just making a deal with my junior sister. I'll trade your life for the bellflower. You've made a profit."
At this moment, Qin Xiyu had nowhere to retreat. Behind her was a bottomless swamp, filled with a nauseating stench.
But Sun Lian was still closing in, so she had no choice but to use her magical artifact to protect herself and prevent Sun Lian from attacking.
Seeing her intention, Sun Lian's expression changed. He took out the sword at his waist, made a hand seal, and a cold blue light shot towards Qin Xiyu.
Seeing this, Qin Xiyu turned pale and barely managed to block one attack with her magic weapon, but she couldn't dodge the next attack no matter what she did.
Sun Lian urged his longsword, which instantly transformed into three sharp blades, attacking from three directions and leaving Qin Xiyu with no way to dodge.
"Junior sister, you can't blame me for this." Sun Lian sneered, his palm print changing as his sword energy emitted a sharp and dangerous signal.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!" Three sword shadows approached, and Qin Xiyu's magic weapon was no match for it, shattering instantly. In desperation, she had no choice but to turn and run, but she lost her footing and fell into the mud.
This move also allowed him to avoid the incoming sword energy attack. A crisp sound rang out in the air. Just as Sun Lian was laughing triumphantly, thinking that Qin Xiyu was surely dead, he saw a white egg in the mud not far ahead that had been struck by his sword energy and shattered.
"boom!"
A loud bang came from the cave, and suddenly the mountain shook, the earth trembled, and sand and stones flew everywhere, as if some enormous creature was about to emerge.
Qin Xiyu, who had just crawled out of the mud, glanced up and was instantly horrified. Pointing in the direction of Sun Lian, she shouted, "Senior Brother, behind you..."
……
Tao Tao continued to dart through the forest, trying to lure the five-phosphorus scorpions as far away as possible to give Qin Xiyu and the others enough time.
However, running is physically demanding. She gets hungry if she doesn't eat at least ten meals a day, and she's already feeling dizzy and lightheaded. Everything looks like food to her. When she looks back at the relentlessly pursuing Five-Phosphorus Scorpion, countless images of steaming and boiling it appear in her mind.
Can you eat scorpions?
Tao Tao seemed to be deep in thought.
Suddenly, the five-phosphorus scorpion, which had been relentlessly pursuing the enemy, seemed to sense something and stopped abruptly. Sparks flew from the friction of its legs against the ground, showing how anxious it was.
Seeing that it had stopped chasing, Tao Tao turned around in surprise, wondering if it was because the effects of the medicine had worn off.
"Hey! Come and chase me!" She picked up a stone and threw it. The stone hit the hard shell of the Five-Phosphorus Scorpion with a crisp sound, but the Five-Phosphorus Scorpion did not react at all. It just stared in the direction it came from, its eyes flashing with a scarlet light.
It got angry.
But the anger didn't come from Tao Tao.
Tao Tao was a little anxious, afraid that it would find out that it had lied to it, so it quickly took out the medicine bottle and shook it, but the Five-Phase Scorpion did not react at all. Suddenly, it let out a roar at the sky and then turned around and ran away.
In the blink of an eye, Tao Tao quickly took out the magical artifact her master had given her, the Jadeite Double Rings.
One of the rings rapidly enlarged and flew towards the Five-Phosphorus Scorpion, tightly fastening itself to its tail. The other ring was held in Tao Tao's hand, with silver magical threads connecting the two rings. She was trying to use this to prevent the Five-Phosphorus Scorpion from leaving.
But the Five Phosphorus Scorpion completely disregarded her behind him and forcibly dragged her towards its nest.
"Stop, stop now!" Tao Tao kept squeaking and whining behind them, constantly urging the Jadeite Twin Rings to resonate. The rings rang out and contracted little by little.
Even under such attacks, the Five-Phase Scorpion ignored them and just kept running forward.
In the blink of an eye, near the lair, Song Chaofeng was fighting with two disciples of his sect who had come from Sun Lian. Although he didn't have many high-level magic weapons, he had a wide variety of them. He unleashed several magic weapons at once, leaving his opponents completely bewildered.
Just as he finished off the two men and was thinking of going into the lair to investigate, a sudden gust of demonic wind swept in, and then he saw a huge black shadow rushing through the forest, approaching his location.
"Five-phosphorus scorpion? Wasn't Tao Tao luring it away? Why is it back?"
He was taken aback and, without thinking, quickly hid behind a boulder. The five-phosphorus scorpion swiftly passed by, rushing into its lair without even giving him a glance.
"Master, it won't listen to me!"
Faintly, Song Chaofeng seemed to hear Tao Tao's voice. He quickly peeked out and saw a red figure disappear at the entrance of the nest.
Oh no, it's Tao Tao!
