Chapter 51 Wilderness Oddities Battle
Chapter 51: Wilderness Bizarre Battle
Liu Yu and his group had barely stepped out of the Mysterious Valley, and before they could even catch their breath, they found themselves in a desolate wilderness. The sun was like a giant fireball, baking the ground until it was scorching hot, and even the air seemed to be burning.
"Oh dear, we've just escaped one danger only to fall into another! This place is so hot it'll cook you alive!" Liu Yu complained, fanning himself with his hand.
Xu Xian wiped the sweat from his forehead and said weakly, "Brother Liu, I feel like I'm going to be dried into jerky."
Xiaoqing rolled her eyes at them: "You two grown men, why are you so delicate!"
Bai Suzhen smiled and said, "Everyone, just hang in there a little longer, maybe there will be a shady spot ahead."
They dragged their heavy steps forward, when suddenly Liu Yu saw a crooked tree ahead. As if seeing a lifeline, she ran towards it.
"Haha, finally a tree to provide some shade!" Liu Yu ran to the tree and was about to sit down when he discovered a huge hornet's nest on the tree.
"Oh no, run!" Liu Yu shouted and turned to run.
Before the others could react, the wasps swarmed out and chased after them.
"Oh dear, help!" Xu Xian was so frightened that he covered his head and ran away as fast as a rabbit.
Xiaoqing brandished her sword, trying to scare away the wasps: "Go away, go away!"
Bai Suzhen then used her magic to try and trap the wasps.
As Liu Yu ran, she shouted, "What kind of luck is this? I can't even find some shade!"
They ran wildly across the wilderness, with wasps hot on their heels.
After finally getting rid of the wasps, everyone collapsed on the ground, exhausted.
"Oh dear, my heart was terrified!" Liu Yu said, panting heavily.
Just then, Liu Yu felt something moving under her buttocks.
He looked down and saw that it was a large snake.
"Ah! A snake!" Liu Yu jumped up and landed on Xu Xian.
Xu Xian was almost suffocating from being pressed down by him: "Brother Liu, get down quickly, I'm going to be crushed to death by you!"
The giant snake swam away slowly, seemingly mocking their cowardice.
Xiaoqing laughed so hard she couldn't stand up straight: "Brother-in-law, you're such a coward! A snake scared you like this."
Liu Yu blushed and said, "I, that was an instinctive reaction."
They continued walking, and their stomachs began to rumble.
"I'm so hungry. Where can I find food in this desolate place?" Liu Yu said, rubbing her stomach.
At this moment, Xu Xian's eyes lit up: "Look, there's a fruit tree over there!"
Everyone looked in the direction he pointed and sure enough, they saw a tree laden with fruit.
Liu Yu excitedly ran over, about to pick the fruit, when she discovered a large spider crawling on the tree trunk.
"Oh dear, another big one!" Liu Yu exclaimed in fright, pulling her hand back.
Xiaoqing walked over, gently swung her sword, and chased the spider away: "Look at your pathetic self."
They picked the fruit and were about to eat it when they found it was sour and astringent, making it difficult to swallow.
"What kind of lousy fruit is this? It's even more bitter than bitter melon!" Liu Yu threw the fruit far away.
Bai Suzhen said, "Stop complaining, just bear with it for now. Maybe there's a village ahead where we can buy food."
They walked for a while longer and finally saw a small village.
Liu Yu ran over excitedly, only to find that there was no one in the village.
"What's going on? Where did everyone go?" Liu Yu asked, puzzled.
Suddenly, a strange sound came from one of the rooms.
Liu Yu cautiously walked over, pushed open the door, and saw a group of piglets jumping and hopping around inside.
"Oh dear, it turns out it was just a bunch of little pigs causing trouble." Liu Yu said, both amused and exasperated.
Just then, an old man walked over.
The old man looked at them and said, "What are you guys doing, barging into my pigsty?"
Liu Yu quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, sir, we thought this was an uninhabited house."
The old man snorted, "Never mind, you must be hungry. I have some food at home, take some of it."
Upon hearing this, Liu Yu and the others were so happy they almost jumped for joy.
The old man brought some steamed buns and pickled vegetables. Although they weren't gourmet dishes, they ate them with great relish.
"Oh, these steamed buns are so delicious!" Liu Yu said as she ate.
After finishing their meal, they thanked the old man and continued on their way.
As I was walking, I suddenly heard a melodious flute sound.
Liu Yu looked in the direction of the sound and saw a shepherd boy riding on the back of an ox, playing a flute.
"This scene is truly beautiful," Xu Xian exclaimed.
Liu Yu walked over and said to the shepherd boy, "Little friend, you play the flute so beautifully."
The shepherd boy glanced at him, jumped off the ox's back, and said, "Of course, I'm the best flute player in our village."
Liu Yu said, "Could you teach me?"
The shepherd boy laughed and said, "Sure, but don't break my flute."
Liu Yu took the flute and started playing, but the sound it produced was like the wailing of ghosts and wolves.
"Hahahaha!" Everyone laughed so hard they were doubled over.
The shepherd boy took back his flute and said, "You'd better not play it anymore, it sounds awful."
Liu Yu scratched his head awkwardly: "I haven't learned it yet."
They continued on their way, the setting sun casting long shadows.
"I wonder what fun things will happen tomorrow," Liu Yu said.
Everyone laughed, and walked towards the unknown future with anticipation...
