Chapter 330 Courtroom Scene
Chapter 330 Courtroom Scene
A week later, the patent litigation trial began.
The lawyer across from them, surnamed Qian, slowly stood up.
"Everyone, please look."
He handed the stack of papers forward.
"This transfer agreement is in black and white, with all signatures and seals!"
"With this, the so-called Song family patent..."
He paused deliberately, looked around, and savored the impending victory.
"It's just a piece of waste paper!"
I suppressed my anger and stood up as well.
I unconsciously rubbed the edge of the folder in my hand repeatedly, making a soft sound.
I began, “To be honest, I almost believed what you said.”
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Song Yafei sitting upright in the audience.
Her face was pale, but her spirit was still there.
"What a pity about this agreement..."
I mimicked the other person, drawing out the sound as I shook my head.
Then, I put the folder on the table and tapped the cover with my finger.
"The problem is huge."
I opened the folder and pulled out a page.
"Everyone might want to take a look here."
"date."
I pointed to the small number next to the signature bar, my gaze moving from the judge to the jury, and finally settling on Attorney Qian's face, which was starting to look a little unnatural.
"The day this so-called 'agreement' was signed..."
I loosened my tie to make myself more comfortable.
"It actually took a whole week longer than our Song family's technology to complete and internally archive it!"
"Gentlemen, you be the judge!" My voice suddenly rose, carrying an uncontrollable anger that reverberated in the courtroom.
"The baby hasn't even been born yet, but the birth certificate has already been issued?"
"How could such a thing happen?!"
I bet nobody expected the flaw to be so simple, so... outrageous.
So stupid it's laughable.
Attorney Qian's smug expression froze completely. His lips trembled, and he wanted to say something, but couldn't utter a single word.
I didn't give him any time to react and gave my assistant a wink.
"Come on, let's get down to business."
"Everyone, look at the big screen."
The projector lights up.
The entire screen was covered with densely packed charts and constantly scrolling data streams.
"This is all the original data records of our Song's technology."
"This is the complete development log. Every code modification and every experimental test is timed down to the millisecond!"
"The entire process is encrypted and archived, with independent timestamp verification."
I gestured to my assistant to switch to the next image.
"Now, let's compare this with the so-called 'key technical parameters' mentioned in this 'agreement'..."
On the screen, two sets of data are displayed side by side, and the difference is glaringly large.
"This has absolutely nothing to do with our technical patent parameters!"
"Trying to forge something?" I leaned forward slightly, placing my hands on the table. "Couldn't you at least put in a little effort and do some basic research?"
Evidence was presented one by one.
The speed at which PowerPoint slides turn is getting faster and faster.
Attorney Qian was completely stunned, her eyes glazed over.
He wanted to speak several times, but when he saw the cold, hard data on the screen, he swallowed his words back.
The colors on her face are becoming increasingly varied.
The fat CEO of Hongtu Technology next to him, surnamed Wang, who had been keeping a composed demeanor, had his face turn from ashen to flushed, and finally to a deep liver color.
He started twitching his tie in frustration.
This is exactly what I wanted.
I adjusted my posture slightly to make sure I was captured by more cameras.
“The Song family’s technology,” I said slowly, emphasizing each word, “is not something you can just reach out and take as you please, just because you have a few coins in your pocket.” My voice wasn’t loud, but it was cold enough.
Song Yafei's eyes immediately reddened, tears welling up, but she stubbornly tilted her head back, refusing to let them fall.
She nodded vigorously at me, then grinned and smiled.
That smile, mixed with tears that hadn't yet fallen, was a little disheveled, but damnably beautiful.
Lin Qiuran, who had been quiet in the corner, raised her chin slightly at this moment.
Wang, the fat man with grand ambitions, suddenly jumped up as if his last nerve had been ripped out.
He pointed at my nose and started spewing trash talk.
Before he could finish cursing, two bailiffs had already grabbed his arms from the left and right.
He began to struggle frantically, becoming the final footnote to this farce.
"Let me go!"
"Zhang Tian! You just wait! I will never let you get away with this!"
The way he struggled all day before being dragged out was truly awful.
I walked out of the courthouse.
In a flash.
Reporters swarmed around him instantly, like sharks smelling blood.
Microphones with various logos were being shoved into my face.
"Director Zhang! What are your thoughts on the outcome of this court hearing?"
"Director Zhang! Hongtu Technology fabricated evidence. Does this mean the Song family has completely escaped the crisis?"
"Director Zhang! When you said just now, 'It's not something you can just take away with money,' were you referring to anything specific?"
"Director Zhang..."
It's so noisy. I raised my hand and slowly straightened my suit collar.
"A small-scale event."
I faced the camera and flashed a standard, practiced smile.
"It's routine, everyone, nothing to mention. But what I want to tell you is that the Song family will rise again, relying on its superior technology and decades of integrity and responsibility."
The sun is shining brightly outside.
Song Yafei and I walked side by side on the sidewalk outside the courthouse.
She didn't say anything, she just walked quietly.
After a while, she actually reached out and very gently hooked her arm around mine.
The force was very small, but I could feel her entire center of gravity shift towards me, and her tense shoulders relaxed.
"Zhang Tian,"
Her voice was low and slightly nasal.
"this time……"
She paused for a moment, as if organizing her thoughts.
"Really, thank you so much."
"Alright," I said, turning my head to look at her, deliberately using a relaxed tone.
"Are you being so polite with me? Don't push yourself to this level next time, making me feel anxious and worried."
"Consider this meal a debt you owe me; you'll have to treat me to a nice meal later."
She didn't argue or laugh as usual.
She simply gave a soft "hmm".
She let out a long breath.
It was as if they were trying to expel all the pent-up frustration, along with their grievances, anxieties, and fears, all in one breath.
"I will."
She said it softly, but very earnestly.
The sunlight cast our shadows behind us, sometimes separating, sometimes overlapping.
"Ring ring—"
My phone suddenly rang at an inopportune moment, its sharp ringtone shattering the rare tranquility.
"Who is it? They have such good timing."
