Chapter 140 You've Always Been Mine
Chapter 140 You've Always Been Mine
Ji Yan poured Ning Yi a glass of orange juice and handed it to her, saying, "Are you tired? Eat more."
Ning Yi took the drink and nodded: "Are you done with your work?"
"We're done with our work. There's nothing more for us to do here. They can handle it," Ji Yan said, helping Ning Yi pick up some food.
One of the bridesmaids saw this and joked, "Looks like next time we're at a banquet, we'll be eating your food!"
Ji Yan was in a good mood, and then smiled slightly, "Then you're welcome to attend our wedding in advance."
Others also asked if they had considered how long it would take to get married, and Ji Yan answered them all. Ning Yi glanced at him, feeling a little uncomfortable.
It's like they're getting married right away.
After finishing their work, they finally had some free time. Ji Yan spent two days with Ning Yi, and then Ning Yi had a performance to participate in, so Ji Yan offered to take Ning Yi there and accompany her.
Ji Yan helped Ning Yi carry her small suitcase and they went to the hotel together. Ning Yi said she wanted to go to the venue to familiarize herself with the place later, and that a friend wanted to treat her to dinner. She asked Ji Yan if it was convenient for her, and he readily agreed, so Ji Yan went along as well.
After they put their things away, Ji Yan drove Ning Yi to the performance venue. The performance wouldn't officially start until tomorrow, and there were still some staff members busy working today.
Ning Yi let Ji Yan stay in the car first, while she got out and went in first, saying she would bring her friend out later.
After Ning Yi went inside, she saw a woman wearing a hat discussing something with someone else.
Ning Yi walked over: "Sister Xiaxia"
Yunxia looked up, saw Ning Yi, and smiled, "Little Yi's here!"
Then Yunxia spoke a few words to the two staff members next to her, and the two left first.
"I'm a bit busy here, so I can't come pick you up in person," Yunxia said, taking a drink from the table next to her and handing it to Ningyi.
Ning Yi took the water and smiled, "It's nothing, you go about your work."
Yunxia led Ningyi to a chair and they sat down. "It's almost done here. Now we just need to check the set and stuff. I'm really looking forward to your performance!"
Ning Yi replied, "I won't let you down."
Yunxia smiled: "After all, I know your abilities."
Ning Yi met Yunxia a few months ago at a performance. Yunxia usually works in event planning and management, mostly in music-related fields. Yunxia admires Ning Yi and takes the initiative to want to be friends with her.
Yunxia has a great personality; she's warm and generous, so Ningyi likes her a lot too.
Ning Yi and Yun Xia sat and chatted for a few minutes, and then Ning Yi led Yun Xia outside.
"Did you drive here?" Yunxia asked as she walked.
Ning Yi shook her head: "My boyfriend brought me here, he might be having dinner with us later."
Yunxia nodded, then joked, "Then I'll have to see for myself what kind of man Xiaoyi has her eye on."
They then arrived at the car. Ningyi opened the car door for Yunxia, and after Yunxia got in, Ningyi also got in.
“This is my friend, Yunxia,” Ningyi said to Ji Yan.
"Sister Xiaxia, this is my boyfriend," Ning Yi introduced to Yunxia.
Yunxia's gaze lingered on Ji Yan, but she could only see his profile.
Seeing this, Ji Yan turned around and politely said to Yun Xia, "Hello, I'm Ji Yan, Xiao Yi's boyfriend."
Yunxia then got a good look at Ji Yan's appearance. Why did he look so familiar?
This man is good-looking, with regular features and a handsome appearance, and his voice is also pleasant.
The more Yunxia looked at him, the more familiar he seemed. Then, she hesitated and said to Ningyi, "Xiaoyi, has your boyfriend... been on TV before?"
Ning Yi chuckled softly: "Yes, he works in the entertainment industry."
Yunxia was somewhat surprised, then stared at Ji Yan for a few seconds before raising her voice slightly and saying, "I know, you are Ji Yan."
"I've listened to your songs and watched a few of your interviews."
Ji Yan smiled slightly and said, "It's me."
Yunxia looked at Ji Yan incredulously, then at Ning Yi: "Not bad, Xiao Yi."
Afterwards, Ji Yan drove them to a private room in the restaurant.
"You guys have it tough, don't you? Public figures have to keep their relationships a secret. When are you planning to go public?" Yunxia couldn't help but ask.
Ji Yan replied, "We'll go public after Xiao Yi graduates. We're both so busy with work that it's really not easy to see each other often."
Yunxia nodded, asked a few more questions, and then discussed the event with Ningyi.
After they finished eating, Ji Yan and the others first took Yun Xia back home, and then went back to the hotel with Ning Yi.
Ji Yan took Ning Yi's hand and lowered his head to say, "Our Xiao Yi is a very busy person now."
I heard from Yunxia that Ningyi has another performance to participate in in two weeks.
Ning Yi raised the corners of her lips and joked, "Then you'll have to take turns seeing me from now on!"
Ji Yan chuckled lightly: "Then could you get me a VIP card?"
"That way I can have priority."
Ning Yi pretended to be deep in thought, stroked her chin, and then said, "Well, I'll have to observe for a while before I can decide."
Ji Yan raised an eyebrow: "An assessment? How do you intend to assess me?"
Ning Yi smiled and said, "Just kidding. You've always been my VIP."
……
There's a Star Awards ceremony going on recently, and the awards there are quite prestigious.
She remembered that in the original novel, Ji Yan won the Most Popular Artist of the Year award. From that point on, Ji Yan took a big leap forward and was not far from becoming a top star in the future.
