Chapter 157 Goodbye to Ao Nanxi
Chapter 157 Goodbye to Ao Nanxi
Looking at the activated token in his hand, Chu Qiuchi was still a little confused.
"General, you just said that you can only gain battle points by killing magical beasts. This is fine for offensive mages, but what about mages of other types? Do they also have to kill magical beasts to gain battle points?"
General Song smiled and explained softly, "These battle merit points are calculated based on the team as a whole, and the final total battle merit is divided equally among the team members. Therefore, whether you are an attack-type mage or someone from another type, you will ultimately receive the corresponding battle merit points."
"I see, that's a good idea." Chu Qiuchi nodded with a smile and hung the token on his waist.
“Alright,” General Song patted her shoulder, turned around and said, “You’ve seen this place now. I’ll take you to the concentration camp and arrange your accommodations.”
The group followed General Song back to the concentration camp. He pulled out a relatively clean tent from the warehouse, handed it to Chu Qiuchi, and pointed to an open space next to the camp.
"Hey, there's an open space over there. Just find a spot to pitch your tents. You've just arrived, so get used to the environment first."
"Alright, thank you, General!" Chu Qiuchi took the tent and handed it to Chu Yichen with a smile. "Brother, this glorious task is now entrusted to you."
Chu Yichen took the tent, somewhat amused and exasperated. "Alright, alright, I'll obey my sister's orders." With that, he dragged the heavy tent toward the open space.
Seeing this, Nalan Xingyao immediately stepped forward. "Yichen, let me help you. Let's go together, it'll be faster." Ji Moyu also silently followed, clearly intending to help as well.
Chu Qiuchi glanced at Puyang Minghui, who was still standing there in a daze, and couldn't help but reach out and rub her head, a slight smile on his lips: "Let's go, silly girl, what are you standing there for? Let's go set up the tent together."
With everyone working together, the tent was set up in no time. Chu Yichen clapped his hands, looked around, and nodded in satisfaction. Inside the tent, everyone took out the makeshift beds, tables, chairs, and other necessities they had purchased earlier from their mental spaces, tidying up the limited space neatly.
With everything settled, Chu Yichen let out a long sigh of relief, slumped into a chair, casually swinging his legs, and exclaimed, "Luckily we were well prepared, otherwise we'd be sleeping on the floor by now."
"Absolutely! We were so wise!" Puyang Minghui smiled broadly, her eyes crinkling.
Chu Qiuchi cleared his throat, his smile fading. He glanced at everyone, his tone becoming more serious: "The situation here is more severe than we anticipated. General Song just said that each battle requires at least six hours of sustained effort. This is a considerable challenge for us. Tomorrow, we will officially go to the battlefield, so everyone must be extremely careful. Remember, take your medicine when you need it, don't push yourself too hard, understand?"
Chu Yichen was the first to speak up, "Don't worry, sis, we understand this. Besides, Brother Yu and Minghui have made so many potions, enough for us to use for two or three months. I won't feel bad about using them."
As soon as he finished speaking, Puyang Minghui crossed his arms, raised an eyebrow, and said, "If that's how you put it, then I'll have to charge you."
Chu Yichen shrugged, spreading his hands with a roguish expression. "Fine, I'll charge you. Go ask my sister to collect it." After saying that, he deliberately moved closer to Chu Qiuchi, pretending to hide behind her.
"Shameless!" Puyang Minghui spat at him, and was about to continue her retort when a familiar voice suddenly came from outside the tent.
"Who's shameless?" The voice carried a hint of mockery, with a slight upward inflection at the end, revealing a touch of laziness and arrogance.
Puyang Minghui was startled and suddenly looked up at the tent entrance. Against the dim light, a familiar figure came into view—slender and tall, with slightly wavy black hair, smiling eyes, and a meaningful curve at the corner of her mouth.
"Nanxi!" Puyang Minghui exclaimed in surprise, rushing forward excitedly and grabbing the person's arm. Her voice was soft and sweet, with a hint of coquetry, "Why are you here?!"
Chu Qiuchi immediately stood up and went to greet him, smiling brightly, "Nanxi? Long time no see, I've missed you so much!"
Nalan Xingyao and Chu Yichen also stood up upon hearing this, their faces beaming with delight. Ji Moyu, on the other hand, nodded slightly with a blank expression, as if to acknowledge the greeting.
Ao Nanxi snorted, crossed her arms, and glanced at the group with an arrogant look. "Hmph, you guys came to the Third War Zone and didn't even think to look for me!" A slight smirk appeared on her lips. "I had no choice but to come to you myself."
Puyang Minghui took her arm and said with a smile, "Oh dear, we just arrived and haven't had a chance to contact you yet!"
Nalan Xingyao nodded with a light laugh, "It was indeed our oversight, but we are still very happy that you came to see us."
Chu Qiuchi replied firmly, "That's right, it's my honor!"
Ao Nanxi hummed in satisfaction, casually scanning the tent with his eyes. Seeing the neat and orderly row of simple beds and tables and chairs, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and smile slightly. "Not bad, the living conditions this time are much better than last time. All the furniture has been brought."
Chu Yichen waved his hand casually, "Of course! We didn't have experience before, but we won't make ourselves suffer again now."
Upon hearing this, Ao Nanxi chuckled lightly, his gaze falling on Chu Qiuchi. His eyes narrowed slightly, and his tone changed to seriousness as he said, "Jokes aside, I've come to see you not just to catch up, but also to discuss serious matters."
"Go on," Chu Qiuchi raised an eyebrow, signaling her to continue.
Ao Nanxi's eyes became somewhat meaningful. "My royal brother wishes to see you."
"What do you want to see us for?" Puyang Minghui asked, somewhat surprised.
Ao Nanxi rolled her eyes elegantly and said jokingly, "Don't you know what you've done?"
Chu Qiuchi and the others exchanged glances, seeing the clear question marks in each other's eyes. Clearly, they had no idea. Chu Qiuchi scratched his head in confusion and asked, "We just arrived today and haven't done anything yet. Just tell us straight and give us a break."
Ao Nanxi smiled, finally ceasing to tease, "The 'Ghostly Charm' you created has caught the attention of the Emperor. As a magical artifact capable of resisting and counterattacking mental attacks, its value far exceeds your imagination."
She paused, her gaze sweeping over the group. "My royal brother wishes to meet you all in person. After all, the appearance of 'Youyun' is of great significance to the entire empire."
"You... already know? The news has spread throughout the war zone?" Chu Qiuchi asked, somewhat surprised.
“No, so far, only my two elder brothers and I know about ‘Youyun’. Father told us about it, but he instructed us not to spread the word.” Aonanxi shook his head. “You guys are really good at doing big things quietly. It’s only been a short time since we last met, and you’ve already created such a powerful magical artifact.”
Chu Qiuchi grinned smugly, "Haha, there's nothing we can do, we're just that outstanding. Let's go, don't keep your royal brother waiting..."
