Chapter 2 On the Importance of Freedom of Communication
Chapter 2 On the Importance of Freedom of Communication
The next morning, Bai Yexiu was forcibly dragged out of bed by Gin and went to wash up with a reluctant expression.
While washing up, I listened to Gin rambling on about the mission details behind me. In the end, I left with two photos in my hand, hungry.
Our target—a blond American man—was sitting in a coffee shop waiting to meet with an FBI agent he had arranged to meet, completely unaware of the arrival of a dangerous individual.
The coffee shop was not far from the safe house, and based on Gin's information, Byakuya quickly found it.
He stole a waiter's clothes, changed into them in the restroom, and then spotted his target when he came out of the restroom.
The blond man stared anxiously at the hands of his watch, glancing around nervously. Despite the cold weather, his forehead was covered in fine beads of sweat.
"Hello, here is your coffee, please enjoy."
The man looked up abruptly and saw a handsome young man in a waiter's uniform. His amber eyes were like still water, calm and indifferent, and he was handing him a cup of coffee with a gentle smile on his face.
"I...I didn't order coffee..."
The man wiped the sweat from his brow, looking at the enigmatic young man before him, feeling a little uneasy. But upon further reflection, he thought, if the organization wanted to arrest him, they probably wouldn't send such a greenhorn, would they?
"This is a promotion at our store, and it's free."
Bai Yexiu put down his coffee and went to the restroom to change his clothes.
Yes, there is indeed an event today: an "event" exclusively for that blond man.
The man swallowed hard, and to hide his unease, he picked up his coffee, took a sip, and then subconsciously glanced at his watch.
The coffee contained Bai Yexiu's own secret potion. After several tens of minutes, the man would feel intense pain in his muscles all over his body, which was perfect for the upcoming interrogation.
The man noticed someone sitting down in front of him, and when he looked up sharply, he realized it was the same young waiter from before.
At that moment, the boy, wearing a black hoodie with a cartoon print, looked at him with a smile.
Recalling the coffee from before, the man immediately assumed the boy was there to play a trick on him and was about to retaliate when the boy spoke softly:
"Is the coffee good, Mr. Traitor?"
Bai Yexiu's words almost made the man collapse to the ground; if it weren't for the chair supporting him, he would have been unable to move.
"You...who exactly are you..."
The man stood up abruptly, pointing at Bai Yexiu who was smiling innocently, so terrified that he was incoherent.
"I am Jundu, in charge of interrogating you." Bai Yexiu said with the gentlest smile on his face, uttering the words that terrified any man.
"Mr. Traitor, don't even think about running away. There are snipers outside. If you try to run away alone, your life will end immediately. Your family will also die with you within seconds. Come, let's sit down and talk."
Of course, Bai Yexiu was lying to him about the sniper; he didn't even have any subordinates, so where would a sniper come from? Due to the special nature of his identity, the boss deliberately didn't assign him any subordinates, so he did almost all the work himself.
The man sat down, trembling all over, his eyes fixed on Bai Yexiu in front of him, afraid that he might do something.
He learned for the first time that the organization actually had underage members, and one even had a code name. The sheer oppressive feeling from the boy's threats alone was enough to make him too afraid to move, let alone...
Just then, the coffee shop door quietly closed. Outside, Gin hung a sign that read "Closed for Business".
This was a small favor that Bai Yexiu asked Gin to do before he left. He wanted Gin to help him send the cashier and waiter away and to hang a small sign at the door.
As soon as the door closed, the man panicked. Looking around, he suddenly realized that the cashier and waiters were all gone, and there were only the two of them in the huge coffee shop.
"First of all, the first question is, who are you here to see today?" Bai Yexiu asked with a smile, playing with his hair.
"me……"
Seeing the man hesitate, Bai Yexiu stood up and looked down at him: "You'd better speak properly, or I won't hesitate to take some extreme measures."
At that moment, a man walked to the front of the coffee shop and noticed a sign that read "Closed." Although completely bewildered, he immediately called his superior to report the situation.
Several tens of minutes later, under intense pain throughout his body and Bai Yexiu's almost perverse interrogation methods, the man confessed everything he knew.
It turns out that he joined the organization with naive intentions, but now, fearing imprisonment and having discovered an FBI informant within the organization, he decided to defect to the FBI to atone for his past mistakes. The informant arranged for him to meet with an FBI member, and the meeting took place here. Besides this, Bai Yexiu also gained some additional intelligence about the FBI.
After dealing with the man, they went outside and were surprised to see Gin's car parked on the side of the road. Bai Yexiu, dragging a sack full of heavy things, said to Gin in the car, "I've taken care of the man as you requested. Now, this body is yours."
Bai Yexiu stuffed the sack into the trunk, got into the car, yawned, reported the interrogation results to Gin, and asked Gin to take him home.
He was dragged out of bed early this morning by Gin, so he'll definitely be taking a nap later.
At this moment, Bai Yexiu in the car was surprised to find that Boss had just topped up his phone credit, and the amount was exactly the salary for this mission. Although it wasn't much, it was enough for him to use for a month or two.
To be honest, if Gin hadn't been waiting for him at the door this time, he would have had to drag a corpse around looking for Gin's car if he wanted to report to Gin, instead of being able to report to his superiors via email as easily as before.
That's why freedom of communication is really important.
Looking at the ample balance in his account, Bai Yexiu revealed a satisfied smile.
