Christopher didn't say anything, he was still surprised to see the handsome commodore turned into a rude pirate like himself.

The cold reception seemed to irritate Norrington, who growled, "So am I eligible to serve Captain Jack Sparrow?"

After speaking, he turned around and drew out his pistol: "Or should I kill you now?"

said he aimed his gun at Jack who was about to slip away across the room.

Jack froze for a moment, but he immediately put on a smiling face: "You're hired buddy."

Norrington pulled back the bolt. "Sorry," he said, but would still shoot. "Old habits die, that's all."

"Be careful, soldier," said one, taking Norrington's arm. "You threatened our captain."

The gun went off, and the man ducked away, knocking over a table.

Jack's new crew jumped to their feet and fought.

Eager for a lively night, the pirates, throwing chairs and bottles, joined the melee and began to fight back.

"It's time to go." Jack nodded to Christopher.

"Yes."

Jack danced across the battlefield unscathed.

He stooped over a knocked-out man on his way out and tried on his hat.

When he and Christopher reached the back stairs of the tavern, he again felt that the hat was too small.

As the battle rages on, Jack is thinking to himself how hard it is to find a good hat these days.

Jack and Christopher slipped out quietly, and Norrington was left with his back to a beam.

"Come here! Do you want British steel? You, you, and you?"

Just as he was yelling, a wine bottle suddenly hit him hard on the head, knocking him down.

Standing next to him, in a sailor suit, is Elizabeth, who yells at the pirates: "I want to have fun doing it myself, now let's throw this guy out and have a drink!"

The pirates cheered, and they threw Norrington into the mud in the pigsty behind the tavern, when Elizabeth suddenly recognized the man, and she could not believe her eyes.

Elizabeth immediately ran to the ex-commodore's side, and he knelt down in great sympathy for the poor man.

"James Norrington, what has the world done to you?"

"I deserve everything," he replied as Elizabeth helped Norrington to his feet.

They walked slowly toward the pier and headed straight for Jack's boat, and Elizabeth called out, "Captain Sparrow."

Jack looked at her, but didn't recognize her disguised as a sailor, "Young man, do you want to join my team? Very good, welcome aboard."

"I'm here to find a man I love." Elizabeth confessed loudly.

Jack nodded, still not realizing he was talking to Elizabeth.

"I am honored, young man, but the sea is my first and only love," Jack answered.

"I mean William Turner, Captain Sparrow," said Elizabeth stiffly.

Elizabeth Jack stared at him warily and said, "You know, this dress doesn't suit you at all."

"Jack." Elizabeth didn't change the subject, he said, "I know Will is looking for you, where is he?"

"My dear, I hate to tell you this, but after a series of unforeseen misadventures which have nothing to do with me, poor Will has been taken as a sailor by Davy Jones."

"Davy Jones?" Elizabeth repeated, wondering if she should trust the island.

"Oh, please," Norrington said mockingly. "The captain of the Flying Dutchman? The ship that carries people who die at sea from this world to the next?"

"That's right!" Jack exclaimed.

Then he recognized Norrington and said, "You look really bad, what are you doing here?"

"You hired me," he replied, "and there's nothing I can do about your standards being so low."

"Jack," Elizabeth said, "I just want to find Will."

Jack stroked his beaded black beard, and after a while, said cautiously, "Are you sure? That's what you want most?"

"Of course." Elizabeth replied, and suddenly she saw a light flash in Jack's eyes.

"Then I think you most want to find a way to rescue Will." Jack replied.

"And you have a way to save him?"

"Well," Jack began, "...there is a treasure chest whose size and location are unknown to anyone."

"It holds the beating heart of Davy Jones," Pantel interposed as the Black Pearl passed by carrying a large barrel.

"Bang, bang," added Rajetti, grinning and patting his chest.

"Whoever has this chest has the power to order Davy Jones to do anything he wants, including helping brave William escape his cruel fate," Jack said quickly, ignoring the pair of clowns.

"Bang, bang," added Rajetti, grinning and patting his chest.

"Whoever has this chest has the power to order Davy Jones to do anything he wants, including helping brave William escape his cruel fate," Jack said quickly, ignoring the pair of clowns.

"How can we find that treasure chest?" Elizabeth asked bluntly.

She doesn't trust Jack, but she wants to find Will as soon as possible.

At this time, Jack Sparrow discovered that Elizabeth was filling out the name on the amnesty she had brought from Lord Beckett.

Jack snatched them away immediately: "These amnesties are supposed to be for me, aren't they?"

Jack looked at the signature on the amnesty decree: "Lord Cutler Beckett, is he the one who wants my compass?"

Elizabeth hesitated.

"It's not a compass, it's a treasure chest."

This sentence caught Barbossa's attention: "Treasure chest? It can't be Davy Jones' treasure chest, right?"
