Years of humidity filled the caverns that held the treasure, and there was a smell of salty seawater around them.
With dim light streaming through a small hole in the cave's ceiling, and the glow of torches in their hands, Barbossa's crew could see stacks of gold coins and multicolored treasure.
On top of the highest pile of treasure stood a single stone chest, its lid pushed aside.
This is Cortez's chest, the same chest once filled with cursed blood-stained money that now holds 881 Aztec gold coins, waiting patiently for the last of them.
Barbossa's crew entered the cavern and spread out, laden with loot, barely glancing at the large chest.
It ceased to be a deterrent long ago, and now the box is just a bane, a source of untold misery for them.
While Barbossa's crew was busy disposing of the treasure, Chen Feng and the sleeping Will were slowly approaching.
Suddenly the cavern brightened, and Will could make out a few other boats anchored against the stony shore.
Chen Feng lined up his boat with other boats, picked up Will and jumped out of the boat, and walked towards the faint sound source in the deep.
Not long after, Chen Feng peeked into the depths of the cave full of treasures through a small hole.
There, Elizabeth stands behind the great Aztec chest, her head held down by Barbossa's cold hands.
"Our suffering is almost over!" Barbossa exclaimed excitedly.
The crew raised their hands and burst into approving cheers,
Barbossa nodded at the box in front of him, and continued: "This is Cortez's cursed wealth! Every gold coin that has gone astray has found its way home—except this one!"
He picked up a small stone knife, raised his hand, and pointed to the gold coin hanging around Elizabeth's neck.
Feeling that the end of the curse was near, the pirates erupted in cries of increasing fanaticism.
Chen Feng saw that Barbosa aimed the knife at Elizabeth's throat.
And poor Miss Elizabeth had only now begun to realize that perhaps she really could not escape this dreadful situation alive.
Things have gone from bad to worse since she asked to negotiate, only to be kidnapped by a band of cursed pirates.
Now, Elizabeth stands in a cave full of treasure, surrounded by pirates who believe she can end the curse and bring them back to life.
As she resisted Barbossa could feel Barbossa's grip on her neck tightening as he pushed her further into the open alley of Aztec gold coins.
"After the curse is lifted, do you know what I will do first?" Barbossa grinned and asked his subordinates with a smile.
Then he asked himself and answered, "I'm going to eat a whole box of apples."
Barbossa grabbed Elizabeth's wrist with his icy hands, pulled it over the gold coin, and raised the knife at the same time.
Elizabeth turned her head, closed her eyes and prepared to accept the knife.
Immediately she felt the blade pass across her palm, followed by a brief sting.
Elizabeth opened her eyes and looked down at Barbossa as he lowered the coin into the small knife-edge in her palm.
Clenching Elizabeth's fist, Barbossa waited, letting blood soak the gold coin.
"Start with blood, and end with blood!" He said, then forcibly broke her palm and let the gold coin fall.
Barbossa, Elizabeth, and the crew held their breath as they watched the gold coins fall into boxes piled with matching coins.
For a few minutes, the entire space was silent, and the pirates were waiting for something to happen.
"I don't think there is any difference." Rajetti, a tall and thin man with fake eyes, expressed everyone's feelings.
"How can you tell if there is any change?" Humpty Pantel asked.
Standing by the box, Barbossa frowned.
Yes, it seems that something is not quite right.
While the lifting of the curse wasn't guaranteed to be dramatic, he had expected some kind of change.
"boom!"
The next moment, Barbosa suddenly pulled out his pistol, aimed at Pantel who was still BBing, and fired a shot.

"boom!"
Gunshots echoed in the closed cavern.
The bullet hit the middle of the dumpy man's chest with gunpowder smoke right in the middle.
Pantel clutched his chest in surprise, and looked down to see the blood gushing out.
However, no blood gushed out, which obviously meant that the curse had not been broken.
Angry roars and shouts erupted one after another, and all the pirates' berserk eyes focused on Elizabeth in the center of the cave.
"You!" growled Barbossa, grabbing the gold coin and throwing it in her face. "Your father, your father was William Turner?"
"No." Elizabeth replied.
"And where's his baby?" Barbossa asked. "The kid with William Turner's blood in his veins?"
Elizabeth did not answer, and Barbossa slapped her, knocking her down on the pile of gold coins along with the gold coin badge.
"boom."
Elizabeth collapsed unconscious on a pile of protruding jewels.
On one side of her flowed a deep stream of sea water, but as she fell, some gold and silver jewels slipped from the ledge and disappeared into the gray water.
After clearing the girl, Barbossa turned back on his enraged crew in a dangerous, almost uncontrollable scene.
"You two." Barbosa roared, pointing at Pantel and Rajetti, "You have found the wrong person!"
"But she has the badge!" Pantel argued.
"She said her last name was Turner!" Rajetti added.
Among the angry crowd stood up a tall pirate named Twigg, who had previously had an argument with Jack in prison.
