Chapter 66 Safe Production
Chapter 66 Safe Production
One day, Yunxi was sitting in a chair when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach. Her face changed instantly, and she knew in her heart that the baby was about to come.
"Cui'er, go call the midwife!" Yunxi gritted her teeth and squeezed out these words from between her teeth.
I saw her holding the armrests of the chair tightly with both hands, and beads of sweat the size of beans were dripping down her forehead.
When Cui'er heard this, she was in a panic and said, "Hey, I'll go right away!" Then she ran out as fast as she could, looking like she was being chased by a wolf.
The mansion of the marquis suddenly became bustling with servants hurrying back and forth, each of them looking extremely nervous.
The midwife was quickly invited in. She reached out and touched Yunxi's belly while saying, "Princess, don't be nervous. Take a deep breath first."
Yunxi was sweating profusely from the pain, her hair was soaked and stuck to her face, but she still forced herself to nod.
The prince was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan outside the room, pacing back and forth constantly, his footsteps so fast that they could stir up the wind.
His hands kept rubbing together, and he kept mumbling, "What should I do? What should I do?"
"Your Highness, don't be too anxious. The princess is blessed by heaven and will be safe." The guard beside her said cautiously.
The prince glared at him fiercely and roared, "How can I not be anxious!"
In the room, Yunxi's screams could be heard from time to time, and the prince's heart was in a knot.
"It's been so long, why hasn't the baby been born yet!" The prince was so anxious that he stamped his feet, his brows twisted into a big lump, the blue veins on his forehead popped out, and he paced back and forth non-stop, and his robe was rustling.
At this moment, a maid came into the room carrying hot water and hurriedly closed the door. The prince stared at the closed door, his feet seemed to be nailed to the ground, and he kept muttering: "God bless me, God bless me!"
He looked like a grasshopper on a hot pan, scratching his ears and cheeks anxiously.
The prince could only wait outside, without blinking, his eyeballs almost popping out, and his expression looked as if he wanted to eat someone.
"Wow..." A baby's cry was heard. The prince suddenly raised his head, his eyes full of expectation, and his body straightened up suddenly, hoping to hear good news soon.
The midwife opened the door and said with a smile, "Congratulations, Your Majesty, it's a little boy!"
The prince was overjoyed and rushed into the room with a smile on his face that almost reached his ears.
"Your Highness, wait a minute, let's clean up." The midwife hurriedly stopped him. She also had a happy face and opened her hands to stop the prince.
The prince couldn't wait any longer and shouted anxiously, "What are you still packing? I want to go in now!"
The midwife quickly said with an apologetic smile, "Your Highness, please don't be anxious. The mother and the child need to be taken care of. Please wait a moment."
The prince had no choice but to pace back and forth at the door, with his hands behind his back, glancing into the house from time to time.
After a while, the prince finally walked into the room and came to Yunxi's bed.
Yunxi's face was pale and she looked at the prince weakly. Her hair was wet and stuck to her face, and her lips were bloodless.
"Yunxi, thank you for your hard work." The prince held Yunxi's hand, his voice choked, his eyes red, and his eyes were full of heartache when he looked at Yunxi.
Yunxi smiled faintly and said weakly, "Prince, look at our child."
The prince looked at the baby in the cradle beside him. The little guy was sleeping soundly with his eyes closed. His little face was rosy and his little hands were clenched into fists tightly.
"This child looks so much like you." The prince said with a loving look on his face, and couldn't help but reach out and gently touch the child's face.
Yunxi said angrily, "I think he looks more like the prince."
The prince smiled and said, "It doesn't matter who it is. As long as you and your child are safe, I will be satisfied."
As they were talking, the maids came in carrying various supplements.
"Princess, please eat something to replenish your body." Cui'er said.
Cui'er looked anxious, holding a bowl of steaming chicken soup in her hand, and walked straight towards Yunxi.
Yunxi shook her head and said, "I can't eat yet." Yunxi looked tired, leaning against the head of the bed, her eyes half open, her hair a little messy on the pillow.
The prince said, "Eat a little, otherwise your body won't be able to bear it." The prince frowned slightly, his tone full of concern, and reached out to gently brush Yunxi's hair aside.
Yunxi then reluctantly took a few bites.
Other concubines and sisters in the marquis's mansion also rushed to visit.
"Congratulations, Princess!" everyone said in unison. The concubines and sisters all had smiles on their faces, but their eyes were different.
Some were genuinely happy, while others were a bit jealous.
Yunxi responded with a smile. She forced herself to stay calm and keep a kind smile on her face.
The eldest daughter also came. She looked at Yunxi and the child, a trace of envy flashing in her eyes, "Sister is so lucky."
The legitimate daughter was wearing a gorgeous dress, and the pearls and jade on her hair jingled, but she could not hide the envy in her eyes.
Yunxi said, "Thank you for the compliment, sister." Yunxi raised her head slightly and looked at her daughter calmly.
The Marquis's wife also arrived, with a smile on her face, "Yunxi, you have made great contributions to the Marquis's Mansion."
The wife of the marquis was dressed in a noble manner, holding a handkerchief in her hand, and her eyes kept looking at the child while she spoke.
Yunxi knew in her heart that this was just a polite remark.
"Thank you for your concern, Madam." Yunxi said. Her voice was not loud, but her tone was neither humble nor arrogant.
In the following days, Yunxi gradually recovered under the care of everyone. Cui'er was busy all day, sometimes making medicine for Yunxi, sometimes changing the child's diapers.
The child was also white and plump, very cute. His little face was round, like a steamed bun just out of the oven, and his little hands and feet kept kicking back and forth.
Yunxi looked at the child, her heart filled with happiness. She gently stroked the child's face with a gentle smile on her lips.
"Your Highness, what do you think we should name the child?" Yunxi asked. Yunxi's eyes sparkled as she looked at the prince with anticipation.
The prince thought for a moment and said, "How about calling him Jinxuan?" The prince paced back and forth in the room with his hands behind his back.
Yunxi nodded, "That's a good name."
One day, Yunxi was holding Jinxuan and feeding him. The little guy was eating happily, his mouth bulging. Suddenly, he heard a loud noise outside. The sound was so sharp that it made Yunxi's ears buzz.
"Cui'er, go and see what's going on." Yunxi said, frowning slightly, with a hint of annoyance in her eyes.
Cui Er hurried out and came back soon, looking a little flustered. She said, "Princess, two maids are arguing about who will take care of the young master.
They were so angry that their faces turned red and their necks became thick, and neither of them would give in."
Yunxi frowned, a look of displeasure on her face, and said, "Tell them to stop arguing. This is so disgraceful."
Cui'er responded and went out again with a quick step.
Yunxi sighed, gently rocking Jinxuan in her arms, muttering, "There are so many people and so much going on in this mansion."
Just then, the prince strode in, his clothes swaying slightly with his movements.
Hearing Yunxi's words, the prince hurriedly said, "Don't worry, I will take care of it." After that, he reached out and gently touched Yunxi's head.
Yunxi smiled, looked up at the prince, her eyes full of dependence, and said, "With the prince here, I feel at ease."
The prince sat down beside Yunxi and looked carefully at the swaddled Jinxuan. A loving expression appeared on his face as he said, "This boy is growing up so fast."
Yunxi echoed, "Yes, Your Majesty, I wonder who I'll look like when I grow up."
The prince laughed heartily: "It doesn't matter if you are like me or not. As long as you have good character, you will have a bright future."
Yunxi nodded, her eyes full of tenderness.
The prince continued, "I will certainly teach those two quarreling maids a lesson, so that they won't disturb the peace of you and your child."
Yunxi said, "Your Highness, please do as you see fit. Just don't be too harsh. After all, we are all members of the mansion."
The prince responded: "Madam is kind-hearted."
As the days passed, Jinxuan grew older and older. Yunxi and the prince were filled with joy as they watched the child grow up little by little.
