Chapter 613: Two Valiant Generals
Chapter 613: Two Valiant Generals
Lin Kuang executed the Antelope Hanging Horn Sword Technique. Its attacks were seamless, appearing chaotic and devoid of any set forms—this was the technique’s very essence. As Lin Kuang unleashed this swordsmanship, Klaus was immediately forced back step by step. Klaus was an assassin, and his style was predicated on assassination: swift, fierce, and precise. Those were the cornerstones of his approach. However, facing Lin Kuang’s assault, Klaus found himself overwhelmed. This was not a style of combat he was used to.
Seeing this, Daniel stopped waiting for an opening. Klaus was on the verge of defeat. If Klaus lost, Daniel would be left alone, making him even less of a match for Lin Kuang. Therefore, he had to act. In an instant, the two men ganged up on Lin Kuang, but it was completely useless. They were continuously forced back by Lin Kuang’s Antelope Hanging Horn Sword Technique, capable only of parrying, with no strength left to counterattack.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smile. "Gentlemen, I think you should admit defeat. There’s no point in continuing this fight."
Lin Kuang wasn’t being arrogant; he was simply stating a fact. Klaus and Daniel’s expressions turned ugly. They didn’t think Lin Kuang was being arrogant either. They really were being forced into such a pathetic state, completely powerless to fight back. Lin Kuang’s swordsmanship was too bizarre; they simply couldn’t predict where his next strike would come from. Even when they saw where his sword was stabbing, it was still useless. They had no idea where the blade would actually land.
The feeling was suffocating. It was like knowing someone was about to hit you with a stick but being completely unable to dodge. The frustration was maddening. Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, Klaus and Daniel exchanged a look. If this continued, they really would lose. But to admit defeat just like that... they couldn’t stomach it.
"Let’s go! No more holding back! We fight! Even if we lose, we’ll leave with no regrets!" Klaus roared, a golden light flaring in his eyes. Suddenly, the daggers in his hands flew out, transforming into a pair of throwing knives that shot toward Lin Kuang’s eyes.
Lin Kuang’s gaze sharpened, and he swept his Nameless Sword horizontally.
CLANG! CLANG!
With two sharp sounds, the Nameless Sword knocked the two daggers aside. However, just at that moment, something unexpected happened. The daggers Lin Kuang had just knocked away suddenly flew up again, stabbing viciously toward his legs!
Lin Kuang’s expression shifted slightly, and his eyes narrowed. It was then that he noticed Klaus holding two transparent threads. They were made of some unknown material, rendering them almost invisible in the darkness. Luckily, Lin Kuang’s eyesight was exceptionally sharp; otherwise, he truly would have missed them.
Watching the two daggers fly at him again, Lin Kuang immediately pressed forward. He couldn’t let Klaus create any distance, as that would put him at a disadvantage. Only by closing in for close combat could he neutralize the threat of Klaus’s daggers, which were now being used like flying knives. But just as Lin Kuang closed in, Daniel charged again, his Triangular Military Spike slamming ferociously toward Lin Kuang’s head.
Without a second thought, Lin Kuang raised his Nameless Sword to meet Daniel’s weapon.
CLANG!
CRACK!
The two consecutive sounds made Lin Kuang frown. Something is wrong with this sound...
He looked up sharply, and his expression changed. The Triangular Military Spike in Daniel’s hand had transformed into a Chain Whip! At that moment, its spiked tip was rapidly smashing toward his head.
These two are full of tricks, even modifying their weapons. Still, it’s not enough to stop me!
With that thought, Lin Kuang swiftly swung the Nameless Sword, deflecting Daniel’s Chain Whip. Just then, he felt an ominous gust of wind from behind. His body instantly shifted sideways. In that same instant, a flying dagger grazed past his shoulder. Had he been even a fraction of a second slower, the dagger would have pierced his heart.
Lin Kuang let out a soft breath of relief. No more holding back. These two are tricky. It’s time to end this quickly.
As the thought formed, True Qi surged through Lin Kuang’s body. An immense power erupted as he held nothing back, pushing his speed to the absolute limit. In an instant, he moved so fast that Klaus and Daniel could barely follow his figure.
PFFT! PFFT!
Two soft sounds were heard as Lin Kuang came to a stop in front of the two men.
Klaus and Daniel blinked, staring blankly at the scene before them, confused as to why Lin Kuang had stopped. A breeze swept past, and they both suddenly looked down, feeling a strange chill on their chests. The moment they lowered their heads, their pupils constricted, and their faces filled with horror.
The cloth over their hearts had been sliced open, exposing the skin beneath. It was obvious: had Lin Kuang exerted even a bit more force, their hearts would have been pierced. They had lost.
"This time, I should have won, right?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile, looking at the two of them.
Hearing this, Klaus and Daniel’s expressions shifted. A bitter taste filled their mouths, but they still nodded. "Yes, we’ve lost."
With that, they put their weapons away. This time, they accepted their defeat wholeheartedly, without a shred of resentment. Lin Kuang was simply too strong, far beyond their imagination.
"Good. Then I assume you’ll keep your promise?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile.
"Of course. We gave our word, so we’ll do it. We will not go back on our promise!" the two men declared.
"Good. Then get ready. Assemble your team as quickly as possible," Lin Kuang said. "Also, there’s a man of mine in Europe named Fan Zeyu. If you run into him, don’t fight him."
Hearing this, Klaus and Daniel both nodded to show they understood.
"We’ll go back, pack our things, and then get started," Klaus said, looking at Lin Kuang. "We’re familiar with Europe, so building a team will be fast. You don’t have to worry about that. Once the team is formed, what do you need us to do?"
"You don’t need to do anything. Once you’ve formed your Mercenary Corps, you’re free to operate as you see fit. Just make a name for yourselves. That’s all," Lin Kuang told them. "If I need you to do something, I’ll let you know. In other words, you can do whatever you want on a day-to-day basis. I won’t interfere."
