933 Return to Shanghai
933 Return to Shanghai
The warm sunlight climbed onto the headboard.
Chen Mo slowly opened his eyes, still feeling the lingering languor of a hangover. The spot beside him was empty, leaving only a faint warmth.
A familiar aroma lingered around my nose, not the smell of perfume, but the aroma of food with a smoky, homey feel.
Chen Mo threw off the covers and got out of bed, stepping barefoot onto the soft cashmere carpet as he walked into the bathroom.
The man in the mirror had deep-set eyes and a sharp, defined jawline. His eyes still held a hint of weariness from their passionate encounter, yet his noble aura remained undiminished.
He slowly finished washing up, changed into a comfortable gray loungewear set, and followed the fragrance downstairs.
The kitchen door was ajar, and through the crack, Li Fuzhen's back could be seen.
She was wearing a beige silk nightgown, her long hair loosely tied into a bun, with a few stray strands hanging down her neck.
Sunlight streamed through the kitchen's floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a soft golden glow on her figure and highlighting her slender waist and shapely hips.
She was bending over, stirring something in the pot. The hem of her nightgown slipped down a little, revealing a section of her fair and delicate calves. Her ankles were slender, and she was wearing a pair of fluffy rabbit slippers. She looked completely different from her usual cold and aloof demeanor as the Princess of Sanxing.
"woke up?"
Hearing footsteps, Li Fuzhen turned to look at him, a gentle smile curving her lips. The allure in her eyes hadn't completely faded, making her already stunning face even more captivating.
Chen Mo walked over, gently wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, rested his chin on the crook of her neck, brushed his nose against her hair, and spoke in a voice that was still hoarse from just waking up:
"What are you making? It smells so good."
"Your favorite Qingyang beef noodles."
Li Fuzhen turned her head to the side and nuzzled his cheek with the tip of her nose.
"I specially asked the kitchen to prepare these ingredients. Try them and see if they suit your taste."
Chen Mo looked down at the stove.
In the celadon bowl, the smooth noodles are distinct, topped with golden egg skin, fresh scallions, and spicy stir-fried beef sauce. Red oil floats on the surface of the soup, and the aroma fills the nostrils.
This tastes somewhat similar to what I had back in my hometown of Qingyang.
"Our Jiafu is becoming more and more virtuous."
Chen Mo chuckled softly, lowered his head and kissed the corner of her lips, a gesture that carried a hint of reward.
Li Fuzhen's cheeks flushed slightly as she chuckled and said, "Go and sit down at the dining table, it will be ready soon."
At the dining table, Xixi had already been brought over by the maid.
The little one, dressed in a cream-colored onesie, was staring curiously at the dishes on the table with his big, round eyes, babbling softly, his short legs kicking back and forth in the baby chair.
Chen Mo walked over and pinched his son's soft cheeks. The little guy immediately giggled and reached out to grab his fingers.
A moment later, Li Fuzhen came over with two bowls of noodles and placed them on the table.
She also thoughtfully prepared a side dish, all of which were Chen Mo's favorite flavors.
Chen Mo picked up his chopsticks, scooped up a mouthful of noodles, and put it in his mouth.
The sour, spicy, and savory flavors exploded in my mouth, exactly the same as the taste in my memory.
He looked up at Li Fuzhen, his eyes full of smiles:
"tasty."
"As long as you like to eat."
Li Fu rolled her eyes at him, but felt a sweet warmth in her heart. She picked up a spoon and carefully fed Xi Xi a small spoonful of rice cereal.
A warm and pleasant breakfast.
After finishing her meal, Li Fuzhen went to change her clothes.
She chose a burgundy fitted long dress, covered with a black blazer, her long hair flowing over her shoulders, and her feet in high heels, transforming back into the bright and flamboyant Princess Sanxing.
She took Chen Mo's arm and said with a smile, "Since you've come all the way to Seoul, shall I show you around?"
Chen Mo wasn't particularly interested, but seeing her expectant eyes, he nodded anyway.
The convoy slowly drove out of the manor and headed towards downtown Seoul.
Li Fuzhen pointed enthusiastically at the buildings outside the window and introduced them to him:
"This is the Han River Bridge, the night view is especially beautiful; that's Myeongdong, Seoul's most bustling shopping district..."
Chen Mo leaned against the car window, gazing absentmindedly out the window.
There are plenty of high-rise buildings, but it always feels like something is missing.
Compared to Shanghai, the streets here are not wide enough, the architectural style is a bit outdated, and even the flow of people in the business districts lacks the vibrant and ever-changing energy of Shanghai.
Especially when you think of the skyscrapers in Lujiazui, Shanghai, and those new landmarks that have sprung up.
Thinking about the development boom that Crown Group has created in Shanghai, and then looking at Seoul in front of me, I feel an inexplicable sense of gloom.
"So, what do you think? Doesn't Seoul seem pretty good?"
Li Fuzhen turned her head and looked at him expectantly.
Chen Mo withdrew his gaze, squeezed her hand, and said in a calm tone:
"It's alright, but it's far inferior to Shanghai."
Li Fuzhen was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.
Having lived in Shanghai for so long, she naturally knew that Chen Mo was telling the truth.
In recent years, Shanghai's development speed has been nothing short of rocket-like.
Not just in Shanghai, but throughout the entire country of China.
Under the leadership of the Crown Group, things are changing rapidly, and everywhere is full of vigorous vitality.
Seoul, although it is also a major metropolis.
But the gap between us and Shanghai will only widen in the future.
"really."
Li Fuzhen nodded, a hint of melancholy flashing in her eyes, before she smiled again.
"Shall we go back? We've finished taking care of things here anyway."
Chen Mo raised an eyebrow: "You're willing to do that?"
"Is there anything you can't bear to part with?"
Li Fuzhen took his arm and leaned closer to him.
"Home is the best place."
Chen Mo chuckled and ruffled her hair: "Okay, let's go back then."
The decision was made decisively and efficiently.
Li Fuzhen immediately instructed her assistant to arrange a private plane for her return trip, and then called home to give a few instructions.
The next morning, almost the entire Sanxing family came to the airport to see them off.
Grandpa Li, leaning on his cane, personally escorted them to the boarding gate. Watching Chen Mo holding Xi Xi, Li Fuzhen linked arms with him and said with a hint of regret, "Mr. Chen, Fuzhen, Xi Xi, you must come often in the future! This is also your home."
"must."
Chen Mo nodded slightly, his tone calm.
Lee Jae-yong and his family members also stepped forward to say goodbye.
Only after boarding the private jet and watching Seoul's silhouette grow smaller and smaller did Li Fuzhen breathe a sigh of relief, lean on Chen Mo's shoulder, and smile, "Finally, I can go home."
Chen Mo held Xi Xi in his arms and looked down at her: "You miss home that much?"
“Of course.” Li Fuzhen blinked. “Only in Shanghai can you feel the taste of home.”
The plane flew smoothly for three hours before landing at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.
The moment the hatch opened, a familiar breeze rushed in.
Chen Mo took a deep breath, and the corners of his lips unconsciously curved up.
Home is always the best.
He carried Xixi down the gangway and immediately spotted the black van parked not far away.
Beside the car, Su Yun stood gracefully, wearing a beige trench coat, her long hair flowing over her shoulders, her figure slender, and a gentle smile in her eyes.
